NYMCHA’s Student Ambassador program is open to graduate or doctoral-level students. It’s easy and requires little time.

NYMCHA Student Ambassador Roles and Responsibilities

NYMCHA student ambassadors are required to fulfill their roles by doing the following.

  • Share NYMHCA promotional material with fellow students and program faculty.
  • Share information about upcoming NYMHCA events via email, program newsletters, class announcements, etc.
  • Represent NYMHCA during college and program events (new student orientation, social events, etc.).
  • Collaborate with the regional NYMHCA chapter to facilitate student-centered events, such as special meetings, celebratory events for graduating students, and NYMHCA program development for students.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with the Student Ambassador Program Coordinator and fellow ambassadors.

Student Ambassador Application Process

  1. Submit an Application
    Complete the Student Ambassador application, including your proposed plan for engagement—how, where, and when you will represent NYMHCA, along with any requested support or resources.
  2. Application Review
    Your application will be reviewed by the Student Ambassador Program Coordinator.
  3. Board Approval
    If recommended, your application will be presented to the NYMHCA Board of Directors for approval.
  4. Notification & Onboarding
    Once approved, you will be notified and invited to a meeting to review expectations and responsibilities.
  5. Begin Your Role
    After completing a participation agreement, you may begin representing NYMHCA on your campus and leading your proposed engagement activities.
