This presentation will focus on enhancing your ability to be flexible in your work with children and teens. It will help increase confidence in your ability to effectively create and implement meaningful therapeutic intervention on the spot in sessions. We will focus on skills necessary to effectively think flexibly, how to conceptualize your child and teen cases to tailor your interventions more specifically and also be grounded in theory, in the "why" of what you're doing. We will address the stress and overwhelm that can arise in work with children and teens due to its nuanced nature. We will address how to provide structure to your sessions and ascribe to a prescriptive play therapy approach, resulting in feeling more adept at this nuanced work, while also creating specific thoughtful, flexible intervention for a couple clients you might have at the time of the training.
Learning Objectives:
As a result of attending this course, learners will be able to: Recall what flexible thinking is and why it's important in relation to therapy work. Assess their own flexible thinking skillset. Employ new ways of using flexible intervention in their work with clients
