This presentation provides a general overview of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Mike will invite the audience to explore the concepts of ACT through video and experiential exercises, compare and contrast this approach with CBT and third-wave psychotherapies, and provide tips for engaging clients using ACT techniques.
Learning Objectives:
After this workshop, participants will:
- feel empowered to make informed choices about how and when to apply ACT philosophies when compared with other therapeutic interventions.
- have applicable trans-diagnostic ACT exercises and metaphors that they can apply to their own work with patients.
- be able to verbalize an understanding of the concepts of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy to their clients and other clinicians.
