
Friday, April 10 to Sunday, April 12, 2026Marriott Albany Hotel Albany, NY As a student assistant, you will have the opportunity to attend breakout workshops, keynote presentations, and network with fellow students and professionals in mental health. Your responsibilities as a student assistant includes hosting breakout workshops, introducing presenters, and providing support to the Convention team, as needed. Please read the following terms and if you agree, you may complete the application below. Applications are due by February 20, 2026 and our team will reach out to you with a decision by 2/24. - 0I understand that as a recipient of the assistantship, I will need to register for the convention. The NYMHCA Institute will provide me with a promotional code to waive the registration fee.
- I understand that The NYMHCA Institute will waive my registration fee and pay the hotel, meals, and event fees in exchange for working during the convention. I will be responsible, however, for room service or any additional fees connected to my stay at the hotel.
- I understand that I might be sharing a hotel room (April 9, 10, & 11) with a fellow student assistant (of the same gender) unless I have made other plans for a room that The NYMHCA Institute will not be responsible for. If I choose not to stay at the Albany Marriott, I will notify the Convention leadership team, ASAP, as to my plans.
- I understand that as part of my duties as a student assistant I will be helping to set up AV equipment for presenters, introduce them to attendees and assist them in any other ways needed.
- I understand that I will be needed to assist during convention events as determined by the Convention leadership team.
- I understand that as part of my duties I will be part of a group text so that I can be in direct contact with my fellow student assistants, and the Convention leadership team..
- I understand that once my duties have been completed, I can attend any workshop or event (including the buffet breakfasts) that I choose during the convention.
- I understand that I am expected to arrive at the Albany Marriott no later than 1 pm on Thursday, April 9th and check in at the Convention registration table. At that time there will be a brief meeting during which I will receive additional information and instructions.
